LIRE & SOURIRE is an association created in 2011 working daily to ensure access to books and reading for everyone. During lockdown, the team launched a new project: Reading and Smiling with Seniors, organizing read-aloud sessions for residents of nursing homes and senior residences. It also aims to combat social isolation of vulnerable people and operates within organizations like Petits Frères des Pauvres. Reading becomes a means of creating social connection with residents with complex life experiences and varied sensitivities, helping them maintain meaningful relationships.
