Popular education in service of citizenship! The Marianne Movement (formerly The Marianne School) was born from a simple and concerning observation: in a society crossed by mistrust, misinformation and tensions, more and more citizens struggle to understand how the Republic functions, its institutions, its rules and its values. Too often, citizenship appears abstract, removed from daily life, even reserved for a few specialists. Yet a living democracy requires informed citizens, capable of debating, expressing themselves, understanding their rights and responsibilities. Being a popular education movement means affirming a strong conviction: in a democratic society, everyone can learn from everyone. The diversity of lived experiences, perspectives and experiences constitutes an essential wealth for building shared reference points.
