Welcome First is a 1901 law association that has set itself the mission of housing and humanely supporting migrant families in situations of great precarity, particularly people rejected from asylum rights and awaiting regularization of their situation. It was created in 2006 and is supported by the three Orthodox, United Protestant and Catholic Churches of Loire-Atlantique, all disturbed by unacceptable situations contrary to human rights that our society cannot accept. Welcome First is present in Nantes/greater area and Saint-Nazaire: • Houses migrant families in vacant housing made available by local authorities, legal entities or individuals. • Supports each family toward autonomy and integration thanks to the presence of a pair of family reference persons, in coordination with the social worker, who create lasting connections.
