The Arawak Le Refuge association, created in 2024, continues a project that has been underway for over ten years around the traditional sailing ship Arawak. It pursues the same objectives: to develop social, educational, and cultural actions with vulnerable populations, while valuing maritime heritage. Through work collecting testimonies from former sailors and shipbuilders, the Arawak sailboat was listed as heritage in 2012. Since then, over 1,200 people have been able to board as part of educational actions, living significant and formative experiences. These experiences have enabled many participants to strengthen their self-confidence, their ability to live in a group, and their ability to project themselves into the future. The Arawak sailboat thus serves as: - A pedagogical tool - A support for social inclusion - A true school of life - A full-scale human adventure Join us!
