Mission description

Provide supportive listening to break isolation and foster emotional wellbeing in someone on a weekly basis. 18% of the population regularly suffers from loneliness, affecting all age groups. Often caused by sudden life events such as job loss, separation, illness diagnosis, relocation, or loss of a loved one. This relational isolation can be broken through regular, kind exchanges without judgment or advice with a trusted person. This is a long-term support—the volunteer meets the vulnerable person for 1.5 hours weekly to check in and listen. Active, non-judgmental listening without advice helps the person.
