Emmaüs Défi, an association created in 2007 as part of the Emmaüs movement, develops solutions to combat extreme poverty and help everyone regain dignity and their place in society sustainably. The Solidarity Equipment Bank (BSE) is a program developed by Emmaüs Défi in 2012 allowing households leaving precarious housing (shelters, social hotels, squats) or homelessness to buy new household equipment at low prices for their new home. By revaluing unsold company items, this multi-partnership program prevents product destruction while quickly securing housing appropriation and maintenance for people in social precarity.
