Mission description

As part of our recently launched training program with La Maison Bakhita, we seek chefs and cooking, pastry, or baking instructors to strengthen our volunteer chef team. The program is an 8-week cycle with new cohorts every 2 months for 6 students, promoting professional integration of newly arrived people seeking careers in culinary fields. In a fully equipped new kitchen, instructors will teach based on technical documents and personal expertise.

SAWA a pour vocation de faciliter l'inclusion socio-culturelle et professionnelle des personnes primo-arrivantes. A travers la cuisine et d'autres activités socio-culturelles, nous nous évertuons à lutter contre l'isolement social et les discriminations auxquelles peuvent faire face ce public. Participant à la lutte contre la précarité et le gaspillage à travers notre action d'aide alimentaire hebdomadaire à partir de la revalorisation d'invendus, chaque activité demeure avant tout un espace dédié au partage, aux rencontres et au lien social. En valorisant les cultures et compétences de nos bénévoles/bénéficiaires, nous facilitons leur inclusion dans leur société d'accueil mais aussi leur insertion professionnelle. En effet, outre les diverses activités où ils sont activement responsabilisés et la mise en situation concrète qu'impliquent nos activités en cuisine, nos bénéficiaires sont également accompagnés par des cuisiniers/patissiers professionnel.le.s afin de favoriser la transmission de savoirs et l'apprentissage. Visant à faciliter l'inclusion des primo-arrivant.e.s et à favoriser les rencontres avec les locaux, nos activités sont accessibles au plus grand nombre. Notre activité d'aide alimentaire rassemble pas moins de 150 bénévoles plus ou moins réguliers, réunis autour de l'objectif de combattre la précarité alimentaire, le tout dans la convivialité, la bonne humeur et l'interculturalité.
