Mission description

Welcome the public during the festival or event, check entries, guide people to event locations, and answer questions with enthusiasm and good humor. Help showcase a unique exhibition on D-Day at its new permanent home in Carentan. This exhibition features 80 knitted or crocheted panels created by volunteers from around the world. Join the team welcoming international visitors and organized groups. English proficiency is an asset but not required.

Nous sommes une association à but non lucratif qui a créé une exposition de tricot et de crochet d'une incroyable finesse pour commémorer le 80e anniversaire du Débarquement. Après une tournée couronnée de succès aux États-Unis, notre exposition est de retour à Carentan, et nous recherchons des bénévoles enthousiastes pour rejoindre notre équipe. Aimez-vous rencontrer des gens et mettre les visiteurs à l'aise ? Seriez-vous heureux d'accueillir les visiteurs, de les guider à travers l'exposition et de nous aider à vendre nos produits dérivés uniques ? Si oui, nous serions ravis de vous rencontrer. Bien que l'entrée à l'exposition soit gratuite, nous comptons sur les ventes de produits dérivés et les dons pour financer notre travail et maintenir ce projet spécial en vie. Il serait donc utile que vous soyez à l'aise avec la gestion de l'argent liquide. Comme nous accueillons des visiteurs du monde entier, la maîtrise du français et de l'anglais serait un réel atout, bien que ce ne soit pas indispensable. Si vous êtes créatif et aimez coudre, tricoter ou crocheter, c'est fantastique : nous avons toujours de nouveaux projets en cours, notamment la création d'un jardin extérieur en tricot et au crochet. Cependant, aucune expérience en artisanat n'est requise ; tout le monde est le bienvenu, et il existe de nombreuses façons de s'impliquer. Si vous souhaitez rejoindre notre équipe sympathique et dévouée tout en contribuant à préserver et à partager cet important pan de l'histoire, nous serions ravis de vous rencontrer. We are a non-profit charity that has created an incredibly detailed knitted and crocheted exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. After a successful tour in the USA, our exhibition has returned to Carentan, and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. Do you enjoy meeting people and making visitors feel welcome? Are you happy to greet guests, help guide them around the exhibition, and assist with the sale of our unique merchandise? If so, we would love to hear from you. Although admission to the exhibition is free, we rely on merchandise sales and donations to help fund our work and keep this special project alive. Confidence in handling cash would therefore be helpful. As we welcome visitors from all over the world, being bilingual in French and English would be a real advantage, although it is not essential. If you are creative and enjoy sewing, knitting, or crocheting, that's fantastic— we always have new projects underway, including the creation of a knitted and crocheted outdoor garden. However, no crafting experience is required; everyone is welcome, and there are many ways to get involved. If you would like to become part of our friendly and dedicated team while helping to preserve and share this important piece of history, we would be delighted to hear from you.
