We welcome parents of incarcerated youth (ages 13-18) in a space at the prison entrance while they wait for visiting hours. We listen to them, provide information, and offer drinks and snacks. Parents are often distressed by their child's incarceration, and visiting hours are important moments for them. With us, they can talk and be heard without judgment. We work in pairs, with about 2-3 half-days of availability per month on Wednesdays (1:30 PM-6 PM) or Saturdays (9 AM-12 PM or 1:30 PM-6 PM). We meet monthly to share experiences and plan.
