Across the 7 departments of the Paris suburbs, the objectives of Little Brothers of the Poor are: PROVIDE A PRESENCE FOR AN ELDERLY PERSON Support over the long term, in their place of residence, people experiencing isolation and precarity, in urban areas and even in remote rural settings. Our areas of intervention: in homes, in collective housing, in hospitals, in prisons, in shelters for elderly migrants, on the streets. FOSTER SOCIAL CONNECTION Through our actions, we recreate bonds that allow people to recover a sense of life's momentum: sharing experiences, finding solutions to their problems together, rediscovering joy, being oneself, having freedom of choice, dreaming and daring to realize those dreams, daring to look toward the future again. Simply living. COMBAT VULNERABILITY Fighting the loneliness and exclusion of elderly people also means providing responses to the many aggravating factors of isolation: vulnerabilities linked to health, housing, and financial resources in particular, which intensify the marginalization of our elders.
