Les Petits Frères des Pauvres

3 missions available

The Little Brothers of the Poor in Oise are seeking volunteers throughout the year. These teams benefit from the support of a paid staff member and welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds: students, working professionals, retirees, and others. Volunteers are organized in teams, work in networks, and regularly share information about the people they support. Objective: To break the isolation of people over 50 years old living in individual housing or residential facilities who are suffering from loneliness, material poverty, and precarity, by enabling them to rebuild connections. To offer a presence by creating a relationship of trust over time with people in their own living environment. Volunteer Mission Details: Conducting a weekly visit to an elderly person at their home or in a collective facility (conversation, board games, outings, etc.). This long-term relationship is based on listening and mutual respect. Volunteers may also organize and participate in collective activities (outings, events, vacation stays with the people they support).
