The Concerts de Poche association was founded in 2005 by pianist Gisèle Magnan, with the conviction that classical music, jazz and opera must live and flourish everywhere, and be accessible to all. Concerts de Poche creates new and lasting connections between residents of a territory, artists and institutions by developing ambitious musical projects. Workshops, conducted in schools, social centers, prisons, care facilities, retirement homes and media libraries, enable participants to experience musical creation, build connections and listen to one another to foster better understanding. Concerts offer residents the finest quality of performance and repertoire in an accessible and welcoming atmosphere. Projects are organized throughout France, in rural areas, villages and neighborhoods, within local venues such as community halls, churches and heritage sites.
