I visit isolated elderly people in precarious situations to combat their loneliness and rebuild social connections. In 2021, 46% of seniors were considered isolated from family circles and 57% from friend circles. Loneliness is even more striking in the Centre region, where 44% of surveyed elderly felt lonely frequently and 16% daily or almost daily. Volunteers of Les Petits Frères des Pauvres work on the ground with proximity actions to rebuild connections and fight isolation through home visits.
