I preserve the fortified heritage of northern Franche-Comté

Mission description

La Caponnière, the Federation for the Preservation of Fortifications in northern Franche-Comté, aims to raise awareness among public and private entities and individuals about the protection, preservation, restoration, enhancement, and reuse of fortified sites for tourism, cultural, and sports purposes. The federation operates in northern Franche-Comté, supported by local, national, and European institutional and local partners. It creates local, regional, national, and European activities (e.g., International Military Fortifications Forum on October 4-5, 2025 in Belfort). It also visits schools and maintains archives.
