Mission description

SOS Amitié is a telephone listening service that receives calls from people facing difficulties of all kinds: health, family relationships, loneliness, and other problems that can extend to suicidal thoughts. Future counselors receive free training that will help them assist callers and join a close-knit, supportive, and friendly team. You are attentive to those around you, without prejudice and with kindness. You believe in the power of words—Albert Camus said, "Speaking of one's sorrows is already to console oneself." You seek a meaningful solidarity commitment that contributes to personal growth. You want to learn how to listen. You have some availability to commit to this meaningful work.
