HopHopFood is a citizen initiative providing local stakeholders—individuals and businesses—with tools to combat waste and food insecurity among vulnerable populations (students, migrants, single mothers, etc.). The organization has volunteer service members, 250 volunteers, and employees since March 2020. HopHopFood manages a food redistribution service where people in precarious situations can recover unsold food from shops at a pay-what-you-wish price through a digital platform. The mission involves recruiting new food businesses to participate.
