I receive and assist families waiting for visits at Douai Prison

Mission description

Families wait in a room for permission to visit their loved one at the prison. Some are visiting for the first time and need information, comfort, and a listening ear. They may be accompanied by children who benefit from drawing, games, and activities. We need volunteers one half-day per week, except Mondays (closed), working in pairs. Be present, discreet but available, and open so those needing help can confide in you or ask for assistance. Be welcoming to any children who may come.
