Do you listen well and show compassion for people often struggling? Do you speak and write French well? Come see us. The French Red Cross New Caledonia delegation seeks volunteers to help people strengthen their reading and writing skills. Odile, the Literacy Fight coordinator, offers training if you're not a teacher. Appointments are scheduled during office hours: Thursdays 9-11 a.m. A minimum commitment of two 1.5-hour sessions weekly to support one person is needed. Meet at the Volunteer House, 22 rue du Mont Té in Montravel, Nouméa.
