Mission description

Arcade is looking for volunteers ages 18-30 to participate in heritage restoration volunteer workcamps for one week between June and October, mobilizing youth around rural heritage. Two activities await: manual work to restore sites including masonry, carpentry, material handling, and clearing (guided by professionals or local volunteers), and community engagement with local residents including visits to seniors in care facilities, shared meals, and theatrical performances. Founded in 1143, Lucerne Abbey sits in a wooded valley with partially preserved buildings despite 19th-century destruction.
