I teach English to exiled people welcomed at Maison Bakhita. The goal is to help participants progress in English in a friendly, supportive environment, regardless of starting level. The volunteer prepares and leads sessions using practical, participatory approaches: conversation, everyday vocabulary, games, role-plays, listening comprehension, and cultural exchanges about English-speaking worlds. Sessions adapt to participants' needs and levels, helping them progressively build confidence and independence in English. At Maison Bakhita, learning a language means gaining autonomy and the ability to communicate.
