I accompany elderly people through reading and sharing

Mission description

Alleviate the loneliness of elderly people through read-alouds. Once trained in oral reading, volunteers visit elderly people living in care homes, residences, or at home, either individually or in groups. Joining the Livre mon Ami association offers young volunteers meaningful human encounters with often-isolated elderly people. It's an enriching experience that develops listening skills, self-confidence, and sense of responsibility while creating unique intergenerational bonds useful to society.
