Mission description

Arcade is looking for 18-30 year olds to participate as volunteers in participatory heritage restoration workcamps for one week between June and October. The goal is to mobilize youth around rural heritage. Two activities on site: manual work to restore buildings including masonry, carpentry, moving materials, clearing, etc. led by professionals or local volunteers; and community activities with local residents such as visits to nursing home residents, shared meals, theatrical performances. In the heart of the Cher region in southern Berry, villages hold a hidden treasure: miles of dry stone walls, silent witnesses to ancestral craftsmanship.
