ZUPdeCO

Founded in 2005, ZUPdeCO is a recognized non-profit organization working to combat educational inequality through online and in-person support programs in partner schools. The organization believes that we cannot solve social inequality without addressing educational inequality. Each year, more than 100,000 young people leave the education system without any qualifications. Among them, 2 to 3 times more young people from modest backgrounds. Based on this observation, ZUPdeCO intervenes "at the root of inequalities" with a simple method: a student or working professional – volunteer – provides ongoing support, 1 or 2 hours per week, to one or several struggling students from modest families, free of charge, until their results improve. The volunteer helps the student with homework, strengthens their foundations, restores their confidence, and opens up new possibilities for them. Audited by the Youth Experimentation Fund, this method has proven its effectiveness with a marked increase in the success rate in the Brevet des collèges among struggling children (from 65% to 82%).
