In 1927, in Lyon, Yves Mollat, a blind Jesuit priest, founded a movement that became an association in 1947 and was recognized as a public utility organization in 1954. Voir Ensemble is part of a perspective of inclusion and integration of people with sensory disabilities into society. Voir Ensemble is both a Movement (associative life) and a managing association of social and medical facilities and services. Voir Ensemble aims to create and develop all means to promote and ensure the intellectual, social, moral, cultural, and material well-being and fulfillment through education, work, leisure, and sports for people with sensory disabilities, in France and anywhere in the world where it deems it useful and possible.
