For 28 years, the clown artists of VIVRE AUX ECLATS have been performing in healthcare settings where they develop improvised and interactive play with children, adolescents, elderly people, and adults with disabilities. Faced with feelings of isolation and vulnerability, and with the anxiety linked to illness and death, the clowns bring humanity and joy, fostering movement, emotional expression, and the creation of connections. The artistic dimension enriches the notion of care and contributes to the well-being and quality of life of patients, their loved ones, and care teams in hospitals, nursing homes, and medicalized care facilities in the Lyon region. In 2024, the clowns of VIVRE AUX ECLATS visit 15 healthcare facilities in the Lyon region, meeting more than 15,000 residents, patients, care workers, and families annually.
