Vélo-Cité, a user association founded in 1980, aims to advocate for and promote cycling in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Through its activities, Vélo-Cité brings together and defends the interests of cyclists and promotes and develops the use of bicycles as an everyday mode of transportation for as many people as possible and as a genuine alternative to private vehicles. Vélo-Cité develops various programs to promote cycling across the metropolitan area: cycling schools, initiatives targeting employees and businesses, participatory workshops, public events, cycling infrastructure projects, and more.
