The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is an agency of the United Nations operating in more than 190 countries. It works in the areas of health, nutrition, education and child protection. There is a UNICEF committee in each department in France. In France, UNICEF works to protect children, raise public awareness of children's rights and the CRC (Convention on the Rights of the Child) and collaborates with institutions to improve the quality of life of children in France. UNICEF France comprises approximately 5,000 volunteers.
