A Listening Ear for All offers a place for individual listening in Saint Marcellin (38) to provide moral comfort to anyone who feels unwell in their life, who experiences a deep sense of unease, discomfort, or a state of moral suffering, who is going through a trial, or simply wants to talk. It provides support based on volunteer listening, rooted in respect, compassion, and non-judgment; to help people progress toward greater wellbeing, to rebuild social connections through self-recognition and self-esteem. It advocates for the idea that a more solidary society based on mutual aid with a human face is possible. It recognizes that isolation and mental precariousness are a growing source of suffering and distress caused or worsened by the lifestyles of our modern societies, which prioritize performance and economics at the expense of human wellbeing. They exert social pressure and emotional strain that undermine people's mental integrity and lead to psychosocial disorders. Weakened in their capacity to move toward greater wellbeing and faced with stigmatization due to lack of understanding of these disorders, people withdraw into silence and sink into psychological distress.
