Founded in 1993, "A Hospital for Children" is a non-profit association recognized as serving the public interest, operating at Poitiers University Hospital to improve, in collaboration with healthcare staff, the hospitalization conditions of hospitalized children and their families. Its objective is to promote the maintenance of social bonds, break the isolation caused by hospitalization, and bring culture to the hospital. It operates a Social Living Space called "La Bulle". This welcoming facility allows children and their loved ones to step away from the hospital environment. They can enjoy various recreational and creative activities, books, a multimedia area, arcade games, and more. Interventions are also provided in the rooms of children who cannot leave their beds. The association comprises six professionals (a director, an assistant director, a coordinator, and three sociocultural workers), volunteers, and regular artists. Additionally, throughout the year, it offers various workshops and performances thanks to external partners and contributors.
