SOS Amitié is a listening service organization that operates via telephone, chat, and messaging. The listening approach is based on Carl Rogers' principles (person-centered listening, without judgment and in anonymity). SOS Amitié France has existed for 64 years. The Avignon office was established 40 years ago. SOS Amitié's strength lies in its ability to provide 24/7 coverage throughout France. The Avignon office has 32 trained listeners who receive not only 4 months of initial training but also ongoing training throughout their volunteer service, with one training session per quarter conducted by psychologists. This approach ensures the maintenance of a very high standard of listening throughout their volunteer work.
