100 years in 2026! That's the respectable age of this lovely rose garden located in Schiltigheim and which is an integral part of its heritage. Who doesn't know locally the splendor of the rose festival that celebrates each year at the end of May/beginning of June the new blooming of the garden's approximately 200 varieties of roses? This French-style garden is maintained by a small group of volunteers who also ensure public and school visits during the blooming season, joyfully share their knowledge about growing and caring for rose bushes, and... feed the hungry birds in winter because the garden has renewed its participation for 3 new years (Dec25-Dec28) in the "LPO refuge" program and commits to preserve and welcome wildlife and flora in accordance with the LPO refuge charter. The interest of this garden? It's a place close to city dwellers and relevant for reconnecting humans to nature, for introducing them to biodiversity and the extraordinary beauty of the plant world.
