The Scouts and Guides of France aim to develop active, happy citizens who are architects of peace. They rely on a pedagogy based on play, projects, teamwork, and life in nature. They thus offer young girls and boys a living space that meets their need to dream, to act, to succeed in their projects, to live in community, and to give meaning to their lives. The Scouts and Guides of France is a popular education association recognized as serving the public interest, with 96,000 members including 29,000 volunteers and 140 employees in France. Open to all and recognized as serving the public interest, the association is accredited by the Ministry responsible for youth as a Youth and Popular Education organization.
