Scouts et Guides de France aims to develop active, happy citizens who are artisans of peace. They rely on a pedagogy based on play, projects, teamwork, and life in nature. They thus offer young girls and boys a living space that meets their need to dream, to act, to achieve their projects, to live in community, and to give meaning to their lives. Scouts et Guides de France is a popular education association recognized as being in the public interest, with 96,000 members including 29,000 volunteers and 140 employees in France. Open to all and recognized as being in the public interest, the association is accredited by the Ministry responsible for youth in the areas of Youth and Popular Education.
