The Scouts and Guides of France aim to develop active, happy citizens who are peacemakers. They rely on an educational approach centered on play, projects, teamwork, and life in nature. They thus offer young girls and boys a living space that meets their need to dream, take action, accomplish their projects, live in community, and give meaning to their lives. The Scouts and Guides of France association is a popular education organization recognized as serving the public interest, with 96,000 members including 29,000 volunteers and 140 employees in France. Open to all and recognized as serving the public interest, the association is approved as a Youth and Popular Education organization by the Ministry responsible for youth. The Garonne-Cocagne territory covers the departments of Ariège, Tarn and Garonne, and the eastern half of Haute-Garonne.
