Routes Vivantes works to reduce road mortality among animals, a major ecological and ethical issue that remains far too absent from public debate. Hundreds of millions of animals die on roads every year—a silent, little-known catastrophe that is nonetheless increasing. We strive for better coexistence between wildlife and our infrastructure. A non-profit association under French law with recognized public interest status, founded in November 2025, Routes Vivantes places awareness-raising at the heart of its mission. Because we only truly protect what we understand, we seek to bring attention to this crucial issue and change perceptions among the general public, students, and drivers. To inform, explain, and raise awareness is the first step toward action.
