RECUP' OCCITANIE

Every year, a French person throws away approximately 150 kg of organic waste. In cities, due to lack of space and practical solutions, this waste is almost always incinerated or buried, when it could actually nourish soils. Récup'Occitanie was born from this observation. Since 2020, we have offered Toulouse residents, particularly those living in apartments, a simple solution for sorting their food waste. We collect it using cargo bikes and electric tricycles, then transform it into fertile material. This material is entrusted to partner market gardeners in Toulouse. Our ambition goes beyond logistics: to recreate a tangible link between the city that produces the waste and the farms that need it. To make the last mile both an educational tool and a service. As a non-profit association under French law in the social and solidarity economy sector, we operate thanks to a small team and the commitment of volunteers. You can help us raise awareness at events, lead composting workshops, keep our micro-platform running, or advocate for the project among residents. No technical skills are required, only the desire to turn our waste back into a resource.
