My Object Library is the project of "Les Passeurs," a non-profit association under French law (loi 1901). The association is based in Toulouse. It was created in 2021 to develop the My Object Library project. Its mission? To show that there is another way! To support individual and collective change to inspire more sustainable consumption habits, aligned with ecological transition challenges. To demonstrate that not buying is practical, economical, and fun. Its principles? To share the use of objects to avoid unnecessary purchases of items that households only need occasionally. Expected impacts? To improve residents' quality of life by providing access to knowledge and equipment, as well as new activities. To bring about positive changes in behavior. To achieve this, the association offers loans of objects for occasional use in order to combat overconsumption. But we also organize moments of sharing knowledge and skills related to object repair during "Café Bricol'" events and outdoor activities.
