Les Petits Débrouillards - Grand Est

The Petits Débrouillards movement is a network of popular education associations that operates outside or in addition to institutional educational systems. Aiming for the empowerment of individuals and human communities and aspiring to improve the social system and develop solidarity, the Petits Débrouillards contribute to training active citizens, capable of thoughtful and critical opinions, who are actors in building today's and tomorrow's world. Founded in 1986, the Petits Débrouillards movement targets all audiences and particularly young people, by developing awareness of the complex nature of relationships between science and society. It does so through scientific and technical activities and experiences. Established in Occitania since 1986, the Petits Débrouillards association carries out educational projects in science and technology through its local branches, working as closely as possible with urban, peri-urban, and rural populations. Each year, the association provides over 15,000 hours of educational activities reaching 55,000 beneficiaries including children, adults, engaged adolescents, and people trained in the dissemination of scientific and technical culture.
