The Bordeaux-Métropole Sound Library is a local branch of the Association of Voice Donors (ADV) dedicated to freely lending audiobooks and recorded magazines read by volunteer Voice Donors to people unable to read due to health problems of any kind: neurosensory deficits (often visual such as macular degeneration), motor difficulties (paralysis, immobilization, tremors, etc.) and/or neurocognitive disorders (aphasia, dyslexia-related disorders, etc.). Recordings are burned onto CDs distributed by mail and/or downloadable through the ADV's online portal (lesbibliothequessonores.org). The ADV's general catalog offers approximately 65,000 titles across all genres.
