La Mami was founded in 2022 by a collective of Rennes citizens to create a place of unconditional welcome, information, guidance, and collaboration for exiled people and all the organizations and volunteers who support them. Indeed, this type of venue, which exists in most major French cities, addresses an unmet need in Rennes. In 2025, the association is opening a third place of 400 square meters in southern Rennes. A welcoming space for meeting and solidarity, featuring workshops, activities, events, a refreshment stand, food vendors, and of course, an information and guidance service!
