In Chambéry and surrounding towns, and sometimes further afield, JRS Savoie runs two programs: - JRS Welcome, opening your door: JRS Welcome offers free temporary accommodation within a network of families and individuals for people forcibly displaced and left on the streets, due to lack of space in the National Reception System. This hospitality lasts nine months, with a change of host family every four to six weeks. Support is provided by a companion, an essential link between the host family and those being hosted. - JRS Youth: Enabling exiled or other young people to come together around collective and creative activities. Members take turns as participants or facilitators. JRS Savoie is one of 40 branches of JRS France, which works to welcome exiled people with dignity, facilitate their integration, and defend their rights. The association is part of JRS International, an NGO active in 57 countries around the world.
