France Parrainages

Since 1947, France Parrainages has been working on behalf of children, in France and internationally, to give them the means to grow up in the best conditions and surrounded by caring adults. In France, the association supports isolated and vulnerable children and families through local mentoring. This child welfare program, supervised by our professional teams, enables a volunteer adult or couple to create a special and lasting bond with a child or young person living in their department. By sharing moments of connection, the mentor brings emotional support and social and cultural enrichment to their mentee. Local mentoring allows the child or young person to feel supported and backed up outside their family circle. The mentor thus participates in their education and opens their horizons to the world, providing real parental support to isolated or struggling families. In practice, mentors welcome their mentee during the day or on weekends to share simple activities at home (board games, cooking workshops) or outside (walks, sports and cultural activities). Depending on needs, some mentors also provide academic support.
