The Vasarely Foundation is an architectonic center (the creation of a structure blending art and architecture in service of its own unique purpose) located in Aix-en-Provence, built between 1971 and 1976 by Franco-Hungarian contemporary artist Victor Vasarely. Designed as an architectonic center, it houses Vasarely's works within an architecture made of honeycomb cells, integrated into the building's facades and internal walls, which during his lifetime could serve as inspiration for the commissions he received. Located on the southwestern edge of Aix-en-Provence, in the Jas-de-Bouffan district, it now also hosts temporary exhibitions and other cultural events. It has been listed as a Historic Monument since 2013 and attracts approximately 101,677 visitors annually (in 2019). It holds the designation of Museum of France.
