Equipes Saint Vincent de Saint Germain en Laye

Our local association is part of the 64 French teams under the National Federation of Saint Vincent Teams, which operates with 1,200 volunteers. Their mission is to meet the needs of people in precarious situations, with respect for each individual and without any form of discrimination. At Saint Germain, we have chosen two main missions: academic support and French as a Foreign Language learning. Classes are conducted in pairs—one volunteer and one participant—which allows for personalized support tailored to each person's specific needs. We ask our volunteers to come for 1 or 2 hours per week, between 5 and 7 pm, on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, as they choose. Academic support covers primary or secondary education (homework help, remedial instruction, preparation for the French baccalaureate exam, etc.) French learning for migrants, new arrivals, and foreign residents who wish to improve depends on the learner's level (alphabet recognition, learning or consolidating reading and writing skills, grammar, vocabulary acquisition, conversation, etc.) We offer regular training programs.
