According to the WHO, 100 people die from loneliness every hour worldwide. An invisible scourge with very real consequences for our physical, mental, and social health. In France alone, 7 million people are in a situation of relational isolation, or 1 in 10 French citizens. (source: Fondation de France) And as is often the case, the most vulnerable are affected first. In fact, it is a genuine vicious cycle: all studies show that precarity and isolation feed each other. For the 9 million people living below the poverty line in France and the 350,000 homeless people, the need to act is more than urgent: it is vital. The solution is to rebuild social connections. Meeting constitutes a genuine springboard for the most vulnerable. Being considered again in someone's gaze is the starting point for dignity, confidence in oneself, in others, and in the future.
