E.S.A de Nantes

General Overview: Entraide Scolaire Amicale is a non-profit association recognized as serving the public interest and accredited by the Ministry of National Education, with a mission to work toward academic success for all. Created over 50 years ago based on a model of mutual aid and local solidarity, ESA's mentoring activities across France have supported more than 4,000 children from primary school through final year of secondary education over the past year. In Nantes, we support over one hundred children, nearly half of whom live in areas designated as Priority Neighborhoods for Urban Policy. Our work is based on comprehensive academic support, which takes the following forms: • Individual mentoring with a volunteer visiting the child's home at least once a week throughout the school year. • Parental support as part of this home-based accompaniment and through collective activities (outings, meetings, parent cafés, etc.) • Activities to broaden horizons through cultural outings and group workshops.
