Established in Seine-Saint-Denis for 15 years, the association has developed genuine expertise around the question of cultural rights appropriation by residents of Seine-Saint-Denis. Its work is carried out within the framework of the law of July 29, 1998 on combating exclusion, which proclaims as a national objective "equal access for all, throughout life, to culture, sports practice and leisure activities." To this end, the association develops partnerships with cultural and sports organizations in Seine-Saint-Denis, which commit to offering free invitations to events programmed in their venues. This cultural offering is then pooled on the national Cultures du cœur website and relayed to partner social structures that can make it available to their audiences. Beyond the recreational aspect, cultural outings help people overcome isolation, venture outward, build self-confidence and gradually progress toward renewed citizenship. Cultures du cœur in Seine-Saint-Denis also provides support to each of its partners, both in implementing the program and in its management.
