The Red Cross in Dordogne comprises more than 400 volunteers distributed throughout the department (first aid and social action). The territorial delegation operates 12 food distribution centers and 15 shops. The delegation also has 60 first responders carrying out more than 100 rescue missions each year to provide medical coverage for sporting and cultural events or during gatherings, and to support public emergency services. In France, the Red Cross has 75,000 volunteers and 17,000 employees. 47 million meals are distributed in a year, and 15,000 tons of textiles are collected and sorted.
