Founded in 1958 by patients and parents of patients who refused to accept fate, the French Association Against Myopathies (AFM) has a clear objective: to overcome neuromuscular diseases, progressive diseases that are heavily disabling and mostly of genetic origin, which kill muscle after muscle. Committed to both research and patient support, the AFM innovates in the social and scientific fields alike. Its work benefits all genetic diseases and even more common illnesses. Telethon concerns us all! On the ground, the mobilization of organizers called "Force T" is exceptional. Athletes, young people, employees, doctors, scientists, retirees... organize thousands of events throughout France. Telethon is the association's main fundraising method, representing more than 80% of AFM's resources.
