The Paris City of Trades was created in 1993 within the City of Science and Industry. It constitutes a space for resources, advice, and activities to support all individuals in building their professional projects. It is a multi-stakeholder platform that enables interaction between the public and professionals in the fields of career guidance and lifelong support: training, career change, business creation, labor law, and more. The intervention of the various partners is based on respect for a code of ethics whose main aspects are unconditional welcome without appointment, anonymously, free of charge for all members of the public regardless of how far along they are in their projects. The association of volunteer advisors at the City of Trades was created in 2013; it enables volunteers to provide complementary insights built on the sharing of professional experience and the transmission of skills and expertise. The volunteers come from diverse professional backgrounds (business, public or private institutions, and so forth).
